Victorian coral and gold parure

Estimate

EUR 900 – EUR 1,000

Victorian parure comprising a bangle, a brooch and a pair of pendent earrings, in yellow gold mounts. The bangle is centred by a lozenge-shaped plaque composed of coral cabochons of varying diameter arranged in a radiating design around a larger circular cabochon, supported by a hinged rigid hoop; the brooch is formed as an oval ring of turned coral, crossed by a transverse bar with a movable ovoid element and completed by three graduated pendent drops; the earrings, of articulated pendent design, alternate oval cabochons, small spheres and oval coral rings terminating in small beads. The corals, of uniform orange-red colour, are worked as cabochons, drops and in the round, with open-back settings and gold connecting links. The original shaped case is preserved, covered in purple velvet with a pale silk interior and light blue velvet base; traces of wear and minor surface fissures to some of the coral elements.
